Located high in the Sierra Nevadas, Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America and, with a maximum depth of 1,645 feet, it's also America's second-deepest lake overall. It's known for its clear water and sweeping mountain vistas. Its banks are home to a number of popular ski resorts, summer recreation areas, and casinos.
The lake is fed by 63 rivers, which drain an area equal to the surface of the lake itself; half of the water entering Lake Tahoe falls directly into it! Also, the lake only has one outlet (the Truckee River) but it only drains a third of the water that leaves the lake, the other two thirds evaporates off of its vast surface.
It was designed in the United States, crafted overseas, and imported.
