Lake George is a beautiful, long, narrow lake that sits halfway between New York City and Montreal at the base of the Adirondack Mountains. It has been a popular summer getaway for more than a hundred years, although today you're sure to encounter far more campers, boaters, fishermen, and SCUBA divers than the Vanderbilts, Rockefellers, Roosevelts, and Whitneys who monopolized the area long ago.

The lakes water is classified by the state of New York as AA-Special; it's drinking water. It's what's called an oligotrophic lake; one so pure and nutrient free that almost zero organic matter grows in it. This lack of surface-plant life leaves an extra dose of oxygen for the fish below, which often thrive in the lakes cold, oxygen-rich waters.

Construction: This piece comes ready to hang, pre-framed in a custom, solid-wood frame. Its rich contours are carefully crafted from laser-cut layers of Baltic birch, which are hand colored and glued together with the intent that each becomes a prized conversational piece and treasured heirloom.

It was designed in the United States, crafted overseas, and imported
