A beautiful, 7 mile long reservoir that's 100 miles east of Los Angeles. Big Bear Lake sits nearly 7,000 feet up in the San Bernardino mountains.
The lake is man made. Originally by a single-arch granite dam built in 1884, and then in 1912 by a much larger, multiple-arch dam that was built 300 feet downstream and which flooded the first dam; leaving it perfectly intact but under about 20 feet of water.
Construction: This piece comes ready to hang, pre-framed in a custom, solid-wood frame. Its rich contours are carefully crafted from laser-cut layers of Baltic birch, which are hand colored and glued together with the intent that each becomes a prized conversational piece and treasured heirloom.
It was designed in the United States, crafted overseas, and imported
