Baja is the second longest peninsula in the world and is a popular destination for vacationers, sport-fishermen, whale-watchers, and desert-racers from the United States and Canada.
About 12-15 million years ago, Baja was part of mainland Mexico on the North American Tectonic Plate. Then the East Pacific Rise separated it and pulled it westward, eventually joining the Pacific Plate. It continues to slowly move NNW today.
Construction: This piece comes ready to hang, pre-framed in a custom, solid-wood frame. Its rich contours are carefully crafted from laser-cut layers of Baltic birch, which are hand colored and glued together with the intent that each becomes a prized conversational piece and treasured heirloom.
